Did you originally know the history of “The Legends” that are in this story, or did you find out about them because of this play?
· Yes, I knew about “The Legends” before becoming a cast member of this great play.
Do you relate closely to your character?
· Yes, I feel like I relate closely to my character, Ida B. Wells.
Do you think the history of the Civil Rights Movement is still prevalent today?
· I think it is still prevalent today.
Do you participate in today’s progressive black movements? And if so, how?
I participate as far as giving my opinion and speaking up and against negativity towards African Americans.
Do you think this play and others like it are reaching the people they need to, to be effective?
I feel like it is an effective play for many. I want the youth to especially be affected by this play.
Do you think the music in this piece is an important part of telling the story?
The music in this piece is telling a great story, “Calvary” is my favorite.
Is being part of this cast and crew an enjoyable experience?
Yes, it is an enjoyable experience to be a member of this cast.
Where do you plan to go in this field of work?
I plan on being an Actress, Producer, Director, Filmmaker, and Screenwriter.
What is it like working with the Director?
Working with the Director is amazing, he is very hands-on and someone I love working with.
What is it like working with the Music Director?
Although I’m not a part of the music pieces, I will say the Music Director is very hands-on as well and she does great work with the singers.
What makes “Chapter 22” so unique?
“Chapter 22” is unique because it told a great story and opens eyes of the youth who are misguided and don’t know anything about Historical Figures that are not Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks.
Are the performing arts an important aspect to the African-American diaspora?
Yes, it is an important aspect to the diaspora.
