Shanae Edwards is a prominent Gospel recording artist, worship leader, actress, vocal coach, producer, and session singer in Nashville, TN. It was evident early in her life that Shanae possessed a genuine love for people. At a young age, she expressed a deep affinity for music.
Her musical ministry is vitally important to her as an artist. She seeks to unify one’s soul anytime he or she comes into communion with her vocal stylings.
Edwards graduated from Tennessee State University with a degree in Commercial Music with a concentration in Vocal Performance. She has been a vocal coach for over a decade, hosting a variety of vocal workshops, clinics, and seminars. She Co-Directed and served as the Music Director for The African-American Experience: A Walk Through Time which opened at the Cox Lewis Theatre to raving reviews, particularly for her arrangement of The Andrew Sisters’ “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.” Shanae has been a professional session singer for numerous years with a resume that spans across multiple musical genres.
Shanae is a shimmering star whose light exudes all darkness, especially on stage and in film. By age sixteen, Shanae’s gift enabled her to win numerous pageants and talent competitions.
Shanae received formal and musical theatre training from Central High School in Memphis, TN and Nashville’s Tennessee State University. During her collegiate tenure, Shanae starred in a number of notable theatrical works, such as Porgy and Bess, Trial by Jury, and The Sound of Music. Edwards’ film debut was in A Mother’s Prayer by Alvin Moore presented by Swirl Films. She later appeared in When the Lights Go Out, which was nationally and internationally featured on BET, MTV, Centric, and The Word Network.
This blossoming worship leader, singer, teacher, wife, mother, minister, co-producer, and thespian strives to bring glory to God in every area of her life. Through her gifts and talents, Shanae endeavors to make an impact on people of all ages, races, and nationalities.
